K1 fiancee visa applicants must prove they have met "in person" within the past 2 years and have a legitimate relationship using documents such as visa stamps, airline tickets, emails, phone records and photos together.

US sponsors must prove you can support your fiancee above the US poverty line, which can be found on the US Department of Health and Human Services website.  Unlike US spouse visas, K1 fiancee visa applicants cannot have a co-sponsor to meet the income requirements.

Applicants must also file to adjust their status, file for removal of conditions 2 years after arriving in the US and do not receive automatic work privileges after arrival in the US.  This requires additional paperwork and filings with USCIS after arrival in the US that are not included in our fiancee visa service.  It is generally recommended to marry outside the US and apply for a CR1 spouse visa rather than a K1 fiancee visa in order to save significant time and expenses.

K1 visa applications have a very high rate of approval in most cases.  K1 visa applications normally take 8 months or more to process depending on the caseload of the USCIS and the US Embassy in the country of residence.
