The legal requirements to qualify for a D1 crew visa are practically the same as those of the B1 business visa except you must be employed as a crew member on a ship or aircraft as follows

 

• Pilots;

• Flight attendants;

• Seamen; and 

• Employees on board a ship whose services are required for normal operation.

 

D1 crew visa applications normally take 1 - 3 weeks to process depending on the caseload of the US Embassy in the country of residence.
