CR2 Child Visa

Children under 21 years of age may apply for a CR2 child visa to travel to the US to live with their parent who has custody or permission from the other parent to take the child to live in the US.

US sponsors must prove you can support your fiancee above the US poverty line, which can be found on the US Department of Health and Human Services website. CR2 child visa applicants can have a co-sponsor to help them meet the income requirements if they cannot meet them on their own.

CR2 child visa applicants do not have to adjust their status, but are required to file for removal of conditions within 90 days after of their 2 year anniversary of their arrival in the US. CR2 child visa applicants will receive an official 2 year green card in the mail 2 - 3 months after arrival in the US.

Please note that our fee to process a CR2 child visa application can be significantly reduced by 2/3 the cost by filing the application concurrently with the foreign parent's CR1 spouse visa application.

CR2 child visa applications normally take 8 months to process depending on the caseload of USCIS and US Embassy in the country of residence.
